Wet Sanding White Choc Tricoat Metalic?

Hi Everyone,

Just a question about wet sanding the white choc tricoat metallic paint. I have a couple of minor paint chips and I am just wondering after the filling the chips if it is wise to wet sand them (2000 grit) to smooth things out. I am aware that the metallic is in the clearcoat and I have both the base and clearcoat for the repairs but will the clear coat dull and be able to be brought back to life with a polish or wax. Thank you!
