Was in Rapid Sunday and Monday. I miss the smell of the pine trees.

 

My Son got his license Monday, so we went out. He uses SDSM&T's Cessna 172, but also is signed off on the Piper Warrior.

 

Too cool. Hard to believe its already Memorial Day Weekend.

 

Greetings from the Show-Me State! I just discovered your SD Chapter - even though I have been on FTE for several years now. Having been born & raised in Beadle County (moved away in the '70s) I recognize most all of the places all of you are talking about. Of course with virtually all of my family still in/around Wolsey & Huron we find ourselves up on the rolling northern plains several times each year; traveling in (what else) one of our Ford trucks! If there are no objections I will monitor the goings-on here & perhaps we will be back home for a Ford Truck event sometime. Thanx again for giving me a taste of the homeland!

On another note, remember to appreciate your rust-free trucks: Those of us here in saltland fight an oftentimes losing battle with automotive leprosy!

Well, I lived near Wolsey for a while myself, and Huron area, know most of northern Beadle as well. Been wanting to get back for a visit, but finances keep getting in the way.

Don't get trucks from Sioux Falls, they are about as bad as what we get around here... I have a mostly rust free from eastern SD now, had a 79 that put it to shame well, only had 2 spots of rust on it, so I know well what you mean about rust free, even if they have sat out for years... got a small collection of vehicles from my time out there.

 

I grew up in Huron and know quit a few people in wolsey area.

Powerball Jackpot of $222 million went last night, one ticket and was sold in South Dakota.

Ain't that the truth! I spent a day in Las Vegas on my way back home... only blew about 7 bucks in the slot machines at the airport. I was hoping maybe I'd be one of those lucky-guy stories... the one where a guy just throws a buck in a machine and wins big... oh well, maybe next time!

 

you have better chances of being struck by lightning! or having birds flying in the airplane engine! and landing in the missouri river!
