WARN Auxiliary Transmission for a NP435
Anybody ever seen or heard of one of these units? The guy who has it says it came out of a 1975 F250 4x4 that had a divorced NP 435 trans and NP 205 t-case. As you can see in the photos i slipped it on to the back of my NP 435 and it mated right up. I've looked everywhere trying to find any info i can on this thing and have had NO luck what so ever.
I don't know how to post pics here but if you click on this link it will take you to the pictures i took tonite.
Old Ford Crew Cab Community, Pre 1980 Ford Crew Cab owners community and information source.
Any info on this unit would be much appreciated.

Might be a reason. Looks like it dates to 1961, for IH and Jeep.
Warn Industries - WARN: A History of Innovation
None of the stuff here looks anything like the pics:
Jeep Standards and Capabilities - Borg Warner - Jp Magazine
Look to the right in "related photos" for the Warn item. Warn ODs are talked about in the text also. But they talk about one mounted on the PTO mount. (?) This is the "Saturn" OD they say it morphed into:

Nothing like the unit you pictured....
So it appears you are looking for an antique that was probably not produced in large numbers and was routinely flogged, beaten, broken and worn out.
There are other OD's available now, so perhaps that would be the way to go. Or, google on, you might find one.....

Yeah, i guess if you are willing to shell out 3 g's for a Gear Vendors unit. It sounds like they are built to handle massive power and torque but that is a pretty unrealistic option for me.
And as far as googling goes...i have made search, upon search, upon search and came up empty handed everytime.
Thank you for responding though. I really appreciate you trying to help. Guess i'll keep looking.

An OD trans swap could be less money than an OD, the NV4500 would be doable. No time tonight, but I'll post some links, or just go to that "high impact" link and look for their index--click on home and look there--they have conversion info, including Ford-specific info for the swap.
They also show the "Ranger OD", which fits between the bell and trans and allows spliting gears.
