Clevelands were never offered in the trucks. Come to think of it, neither were the 429s.
My guess would be the Cleveland for low-end torque, but this is assuming the 429 is set up
to be a high-rpm screamer. In a truck (especially used for hauling) high HP & RPM is NOT
what you're after but, rather, high torque is.
Expect gas mileage with either to be in the 10-12 range (depends a lot on axle gears &
tranny & driving style).

lol The 429 is the same as the 460 which was available in these trucks and the 351C will bolt in place of a 302/351W so either swap is entirely doable with out mods, other then possibly the exhaust manifolds of the 351C. I'd rather have the 429 for towing, the 351C isn't really known for off idle torque, it's more of a high rev screamer.
