Am I set for sway bar towing?

Depending on the weight of the trailer and the GVWR of your truck, you may want to add a couple of leafs to the rear springs, install air bags in the rear, or install an Add-A-Leaf to prevent the rear from squatting down too badly when you drop the trailer down on the ball. It definately will make the truck handle better while towing.

The most common I have seen is the friction style. I remember when my dad first bought our 30' Dutchmen camper trailer. He put the sway control on the hitch and then went to pull out of the driveway. The corner was way too tight and it sheared off right at the hitch and made a huge gouge in the street. I never heard so many swear words come out of his mouth LOL! That was the one and only time the sway control was ever used (he still uses the same hitch and the sway provision is still bent 15 years later).
