Look it up smart guy the only one your embarrassing is yourself.
Well let me ask a quick queston?? Were does the fuel go after the precomustion chamber!? Oh wait the combustion chamber! and the only reason they have the precombustion chamber is to compensate for the lower fuel pressure. So in closing, fuel is introduced DIRECTLY into the combustion chamber compared to an mechanical INDIRECT system that introduces gasoline before the valve. Thank you that is all!

well good dang call it doesnt enter the engine before the valve... but It is still in-direct...

If you would have listened: ''look it up and edit your post'', then everyone on here wouldn't have to see your foolish angry defensive posts

so quit getting your panties in a bunch and take this as a learning experience, part of life is admitting you are wrong.

Also to the OP: my idi gets about 18, that is mainly town driving, pulling farm wagons some, if I drive straight highway at 60 I have seen 20-21... IDI guys love their IDI's and Powerstroke guys love their PSD's... All a matter of preferance, my turbo'd idi is not much different power wise then my buddies 02 PSD, when the chip isnt turned up. but with his chip on economy, about 17mpg is all he gets out of it....

Wow now your comparing diesel to a gas engine. A couple posts up you said diesels inject directly into the combustion chamber. Thats not the case with in-direct injection as you just learned. Hence a distinction with a difference.

Well iv got a 89 7.3 IDI with a e40d and regularly see 16mpg around town and 22 on the highway. Granted my mpg would be better in town if i wasn't always showing off the cute gals walking around and spinning tires for their enjoyment gosh the things us teenage guys to to get a girl...

The argument was ill timed and directed, IH refers to them as IDI or DI. I'm not going to argue with them. John may have to wait a while to post again. I'm not the brighest bulb in the box but I'm sure insulting you guys isn't going to help. Back to original topic, the 5% Bio I was using is being discontinued. I noticed the truck ran better and seemed to average the same mpg. I have used other straight fuel than was erratic in mpg.

IH refers to them with 2 different names because they are 2 different engines.

All short in-town trips, lots of idling.

Any idea what I will be looking at with 2k lbs in the bed at 55mph? I'm hoping better!

I HAVE A 1996 FORD SUPER DUTY W/ 7.3 POWER STROKE.
It has a 10 foot steel flat bed,
QUESTION: can I load a 5500 lb. tractor on the bed and be ok weight wise ?

Any help would be appreciated.

to the OP:
I got 21 avg on the highway cross country with about 1500 lbs of tools and motorcycle in the back, on a shot transmission. 95, f250, 2wd, E4OD, single cab.

the sad thing is i get the same thing in my twin turbo Fummins, with 4wd and 37" meats. I love my fords, but heaven bless them they're better vehicles once they get the powerstrokes swapped out for cummins...

Just my .02

LMAO I am so embarrassed for you dude! Please please read up on what you say before shooting your mouth off. Makes you sound way less stupid!

Google "idi wiki" (3rd link down) and educate yourself a bit before posting again.
