Ford's 6R transmission family

There's not a lot of info on the net about these transmissions. I just bought an 06 Explorer with a 6r60 and I love it. Does anyone have anything besides the ratios with this unit? What are the differences between the 6r60 and 6r80? I looked at the fluid change interval and even under extreme use it still says 150,000 miles. That seems crazy long.

So if anyone has any technical info, please share it.

Mike

I'll stick some info out and maybe someone who knows for sure will add or correct me. I think that the 4 means 4 speed, r is rear wheel drive and the 60/80 is the torque capability. I believe the w in 4R70W means wide gear ratio. That's all (I know) folks!
