Hey guys whats going on. So I have a little problem. I have a 03 F550 reg cab with the 6.0 in it. About 6 or so months ago i lucked out at 97k miles and got a factory refurb long block installed under warranty. So i was driving from miami to tampa one night about 3 weeks ago and i was about 2/3 way through the trip i thought i noticed a slight dimming of the lights a couple of times. I thought maybe i was tired so didnt think anything of it. about a week later i was making the same trip during the day and again towards the end of the trip i heard a click then all my gauges and radio shut off for about 2-3 seconds, then they recalibrated themselves and everything was fine. it has gotten steadily worse. as of this friday my tech was driving and i was in the passenger seat and it happened to him, this was also after a long period of driving, he saw the battery light flicker then the click then all the gauges went down again. that friday it happend like 7-8 times in the course of 15 minutes. After i parked it for a couple hours it was fine, although it was only a 20 min ride home. any ideas?

 

id bet on the alternator. One of my fords did that right before the alternator went out, gauges went crazy then whamo, vehicle was dead! Good Luck!
