6' 3" in the Flex? That might be tough. Get in and out about 5 times. Do you mind it being that low to the ground?

my DD for 2 yrs was a Mustang GT lowered 1.5" on low pro tires...so yeah, I'm real familiar with the low to the ground thing.

and if I do the deal, a Flex or anything else is going to get the finetooth treatment in blazing sunlight.

I've learned my lesson.

You said there are only 2 on the island, I would look into specing out one and have the get it from the mainland, it may be a while but have it in your agreement that you will continue to drive the current Expy until your new one arrives, obviously you no longer making the payments, etc.

If you go the Flex route I to have sat in them and really love the way they look with a white top, kinda looks like a Hawaii surf wagon from back in the day if you ask me. I also had to rent an Edge for a week last year and they to are really nice, not sure but I think you can get it with a third row seat??

Good luck

I just don't know how it will work for 3 kids. 2 in carseats, 1 in a booster...and the twin stroller as well. Have a feeling I'll be test driving stuff tonight/tomorrow
The Flex is badass, and frickin HUGE!!

Take my advice and stay with an Expy. Last October I traded wife's 04 Expy for an 08 Yukon. What a mistake, Yukon ride was OK but there was no room without the fold flat third row seat. Wife hates the loss of room, I'll bet you will too. So the 29th of last month we traded for the 09 Expy EB, and ain't quit grinning yet. Once you get used to the room in an Expy, nothing else will do!!

well I got thwarted. The Dealership is determined to go as cheap as possible.

We discussed a buyback and they completely refused. Said the only way was if I traded in my Expy as "Used" and did a whole new deal.

Currently, the next fix will be:
repaint all the plastic trim, mouldings and mirror covers.

Drivers door will be resprayed

Respray entire rear hatch

Wet sand all other areas and buff

surprisingly so. I was messing around in one on the lot while I was waiting for the big-wigs to come to their decision.

I've told my wife that I'll buy her one. Might have to wait a year, but I'll get her a nice Limited depending on a forced Lemon Law in the next few months, or about Oct next year.
if I have to wait, that will make the Expy my DD...if that happens, it will become the Street Machine my FX4 was becoming

plus, the 2010 are supposed to have that Ecoboost...the 260 HP it has already isn't bad at all...but 300 ponies would be better

My kids are grown and gone so I don't have a need for a Flex, (or a SCrew) but if I had kids I'd definitely look at one of those. I want one of those Lincoln MKS' with the Ecoboost. I also want one of those Fusion Hybrids. And a 2010 Mustang GT500KR, and an 09 KR F150...And a few other models.

I would take it to a indy body shop have them measure the current paint thickness. Then make the dealer sand the bad paint off and then respray. Let them know this is going to be done and they might change thier tune on the buy back. Otherwise you now have a Expy worth a lot less because the paint thickness is not the same all the way around the truck and someone might think is has been in a very bad accident.
Good Luck!

I agree. If you let them know you know about paint they are less likely to skimp.

How was the wind noise and general noise of the Yukon? Is the Expy more quiet inside?

I really couldn't tell much difference, the Expy is one quiet ride! I wouldn't trade it for 2 Yukons, and they were paid for.

Ive been fighting with Ford since oct. with my paint black 2008 ford expy just like yours....look up my name and find the post. Im in Fla won at bbb arbitration but they wont buy it back due to state bbb laws and the fact i bought it in Pa. Its been painted 3 times already 1 factory,2 jarrett ford 3 Brandon ford. I just sent bbb another letter so well see. also it sqeals like a pig when started , shakes after it warms up (kinda like a miss or hesitation) 1 and a half years old only 15000 on it 2 thirds are highway ,i go to pa. and back to fla alot. Apparently it only does it in my drive way or when my wife and i drive it...LUCKY FOR ME THE BBB ARBITRATOR FELT IT TO. I gave Ford 90 grand cash for a red f350 dually diesel and this black expy. The truck is beautiful, but it had a few bugs....but this expy is a total piece of crap.Hell my 97 expy runs better with 110000 on it. The only reason i bought it was because our 97 never ever ever gave us one problem...and i lifted it and thrashed the hell out of it but it still keeps going. If your going for a buy back save all your paper work. And dont forget to send a regitered letter to ford buy back program telling them your giving them one more attempt to fix it or you want your money back..(this is a very important step if you get involved with bbb)PM me if you have any questions or need to see any paperwork ive become quite the expert over the last 5-6 months...also i have a fewhigher up phone numbers ive been dealing with at fmc mabye you call them and skip the 10 flunkies under them...sorry bout your luck....what a shame....chuck

When the vehicle leaves the factory it should have 3-3.5 mills of paint. Mine had 14-15..when the factory sees a flaw they just respray it until the flaw is gone ..theese are the specks you are seeing, some is dirt prolly from guy whos job it was to inspect it, contaminated it and had it ran back through. The other s are air bubbles that are finally working their way through the paint .Theese are Fords words not mine. also remember your trunk and hood is made of aluminum. those are more prone to paint problems because they are more easily comtaiminated . thats the bubbling you see ,its not rust or a paint problem it was the aluminum that was comtaminated and it caused oxidation...when the paint guy poked the quarter sized bubble and flaked the paint off ,it was white underneath ...it reminded me of a battery terminal that was white with acid...same ford bodyshop mngr told me (believe it or not) that a fly could of landed on it for a split second and that caused the oxidation process to begin..when i asked why would ford have flys in there paint booth at the factory? he smiled and said "buddy this aint NASA"..... chuck
