My wife asked me to just do one favor for her when I was looking for a newer truck...nothing overly ugly. I pointed out the Amber Gold and told her they even named the color after her...she flatly said, "No, no they didn't that looks like dog crap." She isn't a big fan of red, black, and white either but after seeing the shape and price on my newer truck she said white was ok. My 92 XL was also white.

My 98 XLT is a nice medium to darker blue and I looked at a 06 SCrew that was a lighter blueish grey but didn't see any trucks that had my tone of blue.

Well I guess I will be the first to say I own one! I am not ashamed!
The truck is beautiful, except for 2 people so far, everyone that sees it, loves it.

It is different, but I like to be different than everyone else.
My last F150 I had custom painted black & purple fade, it was nice, not a barney purple but a nice dark purple.

I will post some pics ASAP of the truck......

This color will be in the same boat as the ugly yellow ford came out with in 04. A first year offering and thats all.

Hey Soundwave, et. al. Found this post on Google and it compelled me to register.

I just brought home an Amber Gold FX4 SuperCrew that I've had my eye on for quite a while. I got a SMOKIN' deal on it, which alone could make many learn to love the color.

Essentially, I walked off with this bad boy for the same price I got my '05 Lariat 2x4 for...which stickered for ~5K less. And I haggled to the end for that one, too.

But I'm one of the few and the weird, apparently. I friggin' LOVE how it looks. It was actually my first choice, colorwise. I figured out just today that the two tone-grey with black grill and red FX4 graphics had subliminally been reminding me of the old Suzuki GSX-R color scheme that was very similar. Pleasant memories = Positive association.

On that note, I dated an "Amber Gold" in high school and she was pretty hot. (J/K on that one, but it makes for an outstanding running joke)

Although "Dark Urine" is a fair analogy, so is "Real Beer". Pick your poison. I believe I'll have another brewski, personally.

But if anything in your stable is manufacturing manure in this color, it's probably time to call the vet. Seriously. Not feelin' that one.

Ultimately, though, I think the kicker for me is that I've had my share of red, white and black pickups and was ready for the stand-out, which this is (and which is rather difficult to pull-off with an F-150). On that note, I'm stoked (and not surprised) that FoMoCo 86ed the color for '10.

Somehow I look at the truck and I'm reminded of that classic shot of Johnny Cash giving the low-mounted camera the finger. I'm pretty sure I'm going to think it's hilarious to have such a polarizing truck and plan to enjoy telling people who scoff how much I love it.

But after driving a white Lariat for 3-years, it'll also be nice to be able to find my rig in the parking lot (notwithstanding the iPhone app for that purpose).

To top it all off, my wife will probably now drive her own car, for a change. Haha

OMG! i LOVE this color !

well.... what can you expect from a chick that has a school bus yellow 150. LOL
I was driving down the road today and happened to see this truck in a dealer's lot. i never even KNEW they offered this color.

i mean......i LOVE my funky school bus yellow 2009 F-150 XL.
BUT..... for some reason..... this color really hit me when i saw it.

i like just a basic truck and i dont think it was offered in that color.
besides..... thats how i wound up with the truck i have now..... i saw it on a dealers lot and found out that it was a fleet color that was part of an order a construction company made. they didnt take all of them so the dealer put it out on the lot.

i just happened by and saw it. i LOOOVE yellow and i HAD to have it.

so....... anything yellow or gold is on my radar. LOL
i just think its SOOOO Pretty.

Alstate insurance does a commercial with a gold F-150 in the drive way and I think it's pretty ugly. Ford has also used a similar if not the same color on the focus and mustang. They sit.

No offense to anybody, not a fan personally. I would have to go with black or blue (Flame Blue, I believe it is called). The blue looks like the 98/99 Mustang's Bright Atlantic Blue, hard color to beat! Of course, my tastes might be a little different... I am not as big a fan of the new F-150 as I am the previous body style (black Crew Cab with an H-bar is one of my dream trucks!).

My last F-150 was a "midnight Blue" metallic with the signature Ford white in the middle and a small amount of chrome. She was the most beautiful vehicle I've ever owned. It was a fairly rare color combo so it looked real sharp. Every now and again I might see one and my heart flutters. What a beautiful set up, they would do well to bring this back.

It reminds me of the gold color Ford introduced with the '67 Mustang. It has a positive association for me, anyway.

My Startac was one of the best cell phones I ever had. I had a 7868W. Great phone.
