Arrow Cam Phasers and Spark Plugs

Did ford finally fix these problems. i was so tired of hearing my 05 rattle from the cam phasers and im hoping my 09 doesnt start to do it.

and for the spark plugs, i never changed mine on my 05 (78k miles) because i didnt want to break one off. anyone know if this problem is fixed also.

spark plugs are fixed. motors with a 2008 build date and newer are good to go. different design and everything

haven't heard anything about the cam phasers. But then again, you pretty much don't see anything about 2006+ 5.4 motors and the cam phasers. Seems to be a 2004-2005 problem primarily

edit: corrected something

The spark plugs in the '09 V8 are supposed to be much easier to change than in my old '97. I didn't have that other problem, in fact my '97 5.4 was still running like new at 331,000 miles with no engine work other than spark plug changes at 75 - 100 K and Mobil 1 oil and filter changes at 15K intervals.

Plug problem gone with Oct 07+ build date. Dealer told me cam phaser change was mid-year 06. Bad rear end was first 18 months production.

Rear end problem? Specific year/gear set/trans/engine combo?

Cam phaser was mid year...so June 29th just before or just after the change?

Has anyone actually changed plugs on a post 10/07 built engine? I asked my local dealer and they've not had one thru the shop needing a plug change.

Considering Ford did a great job ignoring this issue, I'm not taking their word that this has been corrected. Heck, the design change was probably done by the same engineer who created the problem.
