Well all, how about some directions...... There are basically three ways into Madras.

1: South....coming from the Bend, Prineville, Redmond, etc.......Coming into town, you'll pass The Dollar Tree on your left. The street right after the dollar tree is Fairgrounds Rd. It only goes to the left. It's right across from the now closed down Parr Lumber. Turn on Fairgrounds Rd. Go to the stop sign, and turn right. This is Culver Highway. Go about 1/4 mile, and the water company will be on your right. Right past the water company, is SW Belmont Ave. Turn left on Belmont. The first right is SW Cedar Hill. It only goes to the right. Go up Cedar Hill about 1/2 way, and if you miss the 53 F-800 parked next to the house, and the only property with an American flag flying, then you really shouldn't be driving, because you're blind.

2: Coming from The Dalles, Maupin, Hepner, Biggs, etc., etc. You're coming in off hwy 97. When you get into Madras, you'll pass McDonalds, and come to a traffic signal. This is the Hwy 97, Hwy 26 interchange for North Madras. When the light is green, proceed through it, as if going south to Bend and Redmond, (didn't want to say go through the light, and have someone think I mean run the danged thing) it has signs that clearly indicate the direction. This will be a left turn at the light. Careful, as this is an intersection that splits two one way routes, one goes south through town, and the other is north through town......alot of people try going the wrong way. You'll pass Madras Auto Parts, and Truce Auto Sales. There will be a traffic light. Go through it (when green) and proceed to the second traffic light, which is at Texaco (Texaco should be on your right). Turn right at the Texaco. This is Culver Highway. Proceed down Culver Hwy, until you get to SW Belmont Ave. It will be on your right. Turn right on Belmont, and go to the first right which is SW Cedar Hill. Again, if you miss my house half way up the street, then you need to get an eye exam.

3: Just like #2, except you're coming from the direction of Mt Hood and Portland and such. McDonalds will be on your left at the first traffic light you get to in Madras. Follow the directions from here that I wrote in #2. Again, if you miss my house on SW Cedar Hill, then you need to go straight down to DMV and turn in your license, cause you are too damned blind to be driving.

Figured I'd throw that in there guys.......

If you have any troubles, you can call me

Joe 541-279-1157

or Jefferson County Sheriff"s Office and ask the dispatcher for directions

JCSO 541-475-2201 (Saturday will probably be Penny on dispatch, but on rare occassions it's someone else)

If you can make it, I aint gotta clue as to what to bring. I can cover the hot dogs and hamburgers, and buns. If low54 (Devan from Bend) can make it, I think he's gonna bring chips. A pulled pork dish is getting brought I believe. You know, I am gonna PM everyone and see what they're bringing, that we I can post a list of what's coming.

If you could drive 75 miles east to Biggs (on I-84) you are more than welcome to ride down with me!

You all show up whenever you want, as long as it aint before 9 ish. 10's good, 11, 12, whatever.my schedule, and aint going any where unless I absolutely have to......running out of something, need to dash to the store, etc.,etc. I know there are a few that can't make it until a little after noon, so anytime in there is good.
