Bad experience with instal of Accel points eliminator
Recently I bought an Accel model 2020 points eliminator module on ebay. They have been going cheap, like around $35. Perhaps the reason for low price is that Accel has stopped making them and these are surplus. Spent too much of the last 24 hours trying to get mine installed. First problem was two screws included in the kit were the wrong size, so had to drive 16 miles round trip for 2 .15 flathead screws. Next found out the grommet through which the 3 wires pass in the dist. body was missing. Tried making some grommets work that were on hand but no luck. Ended up trying to center the 3 wires in the hole with small pieces of rubber, and applying rtv.
And finally, the trigger and rotor wouldnt seat on the top of the dist. shaft enough to even be able to turn the shaft with cap in place. With brute force applied via rubber mallet numerous times, the trigger and cap were down.
It will be amazing if this POS fires a spark plug once.

I installed a pertronix unit in mine. That has two wires going into the dist. That was a tight fit also. Three would kill that tiny hole. I finaly snipped the wires and slid them through. These points dealaters are great though. You got your truck out for the year yet? you guys got a ton of snow early on, any flooding?

It has been a cool spring here. No flooding this year. We have a stream running along the backside of our property line and it came up to the "Full" mark only once this year. Finally it is due to warm up this week.
Truck on the road? No, most likely a month off. Still need to start the engine. Would do it Sunday but my wife's daughter is coming to town Saturday from Kansas, and there is an event agenda to deal with that includes going to the coast for 2 whole days .
