No an adjustable will center it by twisting the sleeve, or whatever it uses. You don't need to loosen anything else.

I have a Tuff country 2 1/2" leveling kit on mine and the drop bracket for the track bar is slotted where the track bar bolts on.It uses a special bolt to adjust it.When I had mine aligned it needed new alignment cams to get it correct.Afterwards it was perfect better than it was ever before. Then again the guy that did the alignment really knows his stuff. My tires wear perfect,no uneven wear at all.

The alignment cams are used to adjust "caster" and for the most part all lifts/leveling will require them. Caster doesn't affect tire wear. You are right your alignment guy knows his stuff.

Aldridgec,
Thanks for all your help and input!

I wish i could find a good alignment shop here in the detroit area!
My drop bracket does not have any ajustability to it.
Im going to order a adjustable track bar and see if i can get the front axle centered again.

I wonder why the alignment shop did not notice that the axle was shifted.
I even told them that the truck just had a leveling kit put on it.
Wouldnt they be able to tell with a 4 wheel alignment that the axle was shifted?

I spent several hours last night reading through all the old post about adjustable track bars. I have a few questions.

Several members have said that if you put a drop bracket for the track bar that you will also need to put a drop down pitman arm? Even with just a 2.5 leveling kit is this true?

If i put a adjustable track bar on my truck should i put the stock upper track bar bracket back on or should i leave the trackbar drop bracket that came with my leveling kit?

Members also say that the trackbar and drag link should be on the same angle?
Which would mean that i would need to put the stock trackbar bracket back on to make the draglink and trackbar on the same angle?

It seems that most of the people that have had this problem. Usually thier axles are shifted to the drivers side where mine with the drop bracket is shifted to the passangers side?

Please help as i am a little confused after reading all the old post last night.
THANKS...

I don't have a drop pitman arm on mine.I don't think you need one until you lift it 4" or more.I don't even know if anyone even makes one for 2 1/2" lift.I would try the adjustable trackbar. If the track bar and drag link are suppose to be at the same angle you would think it the drop pitman arm would be with the kit or atleast they would suggest you buy one.

You should leave the drop bracket on for the adjustable track bar. you want to keep everything as close to level as you can from every thing that I have learned.

Thanks for the tips!

After taking the trackbar out today and getting the axle recentered under the truck i have found that the drop bracket does not allow the stock trackbar to bolt back up when the axle is ligned up.The track bar is off by 1/2" to bolt it back in the hole. 1/2" is how much my axle was shifted before now i know where the shortness came form. Im sure i can force the bolt back in by turning the wheels on the ground but if i do that it is still going to be 1/2" off.I guess i did not save any money on this summit leveling kit considering the drop bracket is not engineered correctly for this lift. Now i know for sure that i need the adjustable track bar.I just hope when i get the track bar and center the axle that the truck will finally drive strait like it did before the leveling kit.

Any good suggestions on where to get a good adjustable bar at a good price?

Alignment machines don't neccesarily look for things like that. There is a specifcation called setback which compares the axles parallelism, but not the relationship to the vehicle or each other left to right. It doesn't affect drive ability. You can work on getting the axle centered but it won't affect why your truck is pulling. I can push my axle all over the place with my trackbar but it doesn't change how it goes down the road.

Besides you are measuring off of the body, which could be shifted on the frame too. The body mounts don't necessarily keep it perfectly aligned. Your body proably moves around a 1/2 inch or more just going down the road, over bumps, etc. It may seem like a lot but it is very relative to what you are driving.

I had my factory bar cut and machined for a thready sleeve. It cost about $60 for the machining and $11 for a sleeve. It was very hard to find someone willing to do it though.

I ordered a adjustable track bar from zone offroad. $106 shipped pretty good price from what i have seen out there.

Zone Ford Accessories

Should be delivered tomorrow ill find out if it helps the pulling problem or not.
After reading your post i was a little let down to find out that the axle being shifted and me getting it recentered with the bar is not going to help at all???

I posted my alignment specs and no one has commented as to weather they are good or bad?

My truck drove strait down the road like a sports car before i put this leveling kit on now it just wonders right everytime i take my eyes off the road. Very dissappointing

Ive taken it back two times for a alignment and they say all is good.

Can Anyone in the detroit area recommend a good alignment shop??
