Truck I have: 1990 F-Super duty, vin 2FDLF47G9LCA33710. Its a fire engine. I'm looking to replace just the pickup part of the apparatus. How consistent are the dimensions of frames from year to year? I want to keep the fire fighting equipment and not have to modify it or a newer pickup to marry the 2 together. Any thoughts, advice, people/places to contact? Thanks. P.S. I'm the fire chief of the tiny vol dept using this rig.

You will find that the chassis cabs remain the same in most measurements. Pay attention to the cab to axle measurements. What year chassis do you plan on using?

Haven't landed on a year. Just looking for more learned guidance as to what may work best. If I have a range of years to pick from then my search gets easier

Well that would be a wide range of trucks. The 34" wide frame remains standard on trucks. You have a wide range of potential chassis in multiple weight classes available.

Might be a dumb question, but does that width ring true to other makes and models of heavy duty pickup? If memory serves the current vehicle is 14000 gvw

that is a cab chassis truck, and a pickup body will not work without modifications.
the main difference being frame width and length.

This is true, from what I gathered the OP just wants to swap the apparatus body to a newer chassis which is a doable swap and done often.
