I'd either go to court & plead quilty & ask the judge to not put it on my record or just pay the fine. Getting a lawyer will just cost you more cash. I've got the judge to keep 2 tickets off my record by going to court & pleading guilty.I don't have any other tickets on my record & he let me off with just the fine. Thats worth going to court for IMHO.

Several years back I got a ticket in Cocke county (State Trooper) with about those same numbers.
The officer told me to come to court if I could.
I went to court and the room was standing room only. Before court started they called all speeding ticket person who would like to pay the fine and court costs to follow this person out of the front of the court room. It was most of the people. The ticket would not show up on your record either. The court costs were way higher than just paying the ticket. I mean like almost twice. But it never showed up on my record.
Kind of a scam if you ask me.
I guess I paid my money to the state instead of the insurance company.
I would take it to court if you can be here for it.

Hey everyone, this is my first post.
I just signed up and starting browsing around on the regional forums and I se my county on the list.
After reading the first post I live in Cocke County and I am here to tell ya...
Just go to court and talk it over with Judge Bell. He is a pretty easy going guy. Let him know you were being stupid and you plead guilty and you would like to keep it off your record because you don't want your insurance to go up. Just talk some stupid stuff about the economy or whatever (everyone is poor here) and he will understand.
Depending on how your record already looks it shouldn't be a problem.
I got a 103 in a 45 here once and got away without it even showing up on my record.

All of our lawyers are pretty much the same. They take your money and then care less about anything going on. Who gave you the ticket? State of County? What was the officers name?

Personally I would take it to court.
Lawyers won't help you much. It just shows you got money and are here to fight.
Being honest, nice and saying sir will get you farther than a lawyer in most cases.
Mumble something about the economy and that you don't want it on your insurance because it is expensive enough already in this economy.
