new differential for a nine inch...
...just wondering...if you were going to replace just about everything
in your existing pumpkin...with all new gears, bearings, seals...
...the whole shootin' match...
I already have a new ring & pinion set on the way...
3.89:1 with back-cut ring-gear...made by Visteon...
My 28-spline axles don't look too bad...but...hey...I'm still lookin'...
...what differential would you be lookin' at?
In this order...I got it narrowed down to;
1) Detroit Locker
2) Detroit SofLocker
3) Tru-Trac (helical-gear type Limited-Slip differential)
4) Trac-Loc (clutch-type Limited-Slip differential)
Any ideas???......<O</O

is this for a road truck, or race?
if for Road, I'd go with the least strong locker, trak-loc should be fine.
You want it to give some, on curves in the rain ... potentially slippery conditions.. traklocs/posi are great for straight line, but can be dangerous. when one wheel breaks loose, both do.. then you are facing the other way, (hopefully!)
After reading up on posi's after having put one in my truck, I now understand why I hit that center median guardrail when I was 17, in my Dad's Barracuda, turning left at the light in the rain.. I punched it and the back end swung on me.. bam...
I will probaby do open diffs from now on..
