drum to disc for a '53 F250

Anyone had any luck finding drum to disc brake parts for a '53 F250? They are all over for the F100, but not the bigger trucks. Are there any later year swaps that may work?

AFAIK the 53-56 used the same front axle in the F100, 250 and 350, just used heavier springs in the bigger trucks. The disc brake conversions should fit all 3.

The axle may be the same size, but the spindle is a different diameter. All of the kits that I have found the spindle diameter is .813, where mine is 1.315.

OK, then why not swap in a F100 front axle or spindles?

Need 3/4 ton brake drums!

I am interested in any of the 3/4 ton 12"" x 2" brake drums if you guys are going to get rid of them and they are in usable condition. Let me know if you want to part with them.

Where did you find the F250 parts? I'm sure that the spindle diameter is different from the F100's to the F250's.

Red,
I have a 1953 Ford F250 with a brand new 9 inch rear end with disc brakes with a 4.75 lug pattern. I would like to put disc brakes on the front —I’ve taken it apart and got rid of the drums, they say the king pin is not the same on the F100 as an F250 so the kit offered to convert it over will not fit. I am stuck. what did you do?

Again, who is "they"? Unless you don't have an F250, or an F250 axle, any brake kit that fits a 53 F100 will fit on a 53 F250. Checking the Ford parts catalog, the axles, spindles, spindle bolts (aka, king pin), and spindle bushing and bolt rebuild kit, are the same. And what does the king pin size have to do with anything? There is no correlation between the king pin and the brake kit. The caliper bracket bolts onto the spindle where the drum brake backing plate was, and the rotor/hub slides over the spindle shaft. Done deal.

If your chosen supplier doesn't want to sell you a brake kit, I'm sure there are other more reputable and knowledgeable vendors who will gladly take your money, and give you better tech support and customer service.

Thanks, Wayne for the confirmation. I do have an 53 F250. The rep from the company I called threw me off with the Kingpin being an issue related to the brakes. I guess it doesn't matter which company name -- your right I will look around for other manufacturers.
I thought the issue might be with the grease zerk.
Sorry for pulling up an old thread. I appreciate your reply.
