The amount you have to take off is very little look at #3 on this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...kit-is-on.html and you will see how very little and where Frank had to remove material. I bought the adjustable cams and didnt end up using them, the alignment shop had the non adjustable type and we just used them.

The front end shop had 1.5 adjustable, where did you buy yours? The knuckle was still slammed against the ibeam with a ton more to go... Strange that worked for you guys.

Sorry I dont remember where I got the adjustable ones but the alignment shop just had the ones to do the job an I ended up giving them the adjustable ones since I had no use for them. Have you done any grinding on the I-beam and spindle?

Could be attributed to the fact that yours is a 99.. do you happen to know is it is one that is considered an early 99?

I know there are subtle differences in those, not sure if the suspension is different or not.

I got my dual adjustable camber bushings at NAPA.

I'm Like you. I had to pull my steering knuckles out twice and do some grinding on them both times. First time the alignement shop couldn't get it in alignment even with dual camber bushings installed. second time around it aligned up great. I have the aluminum spacers.

This leveling kit just really does not level or even the space from tire to fender either... Front compared to the rear.
I just wish more could be done with the twin I beam 2wd
Susp.

Center i beam Drop brackets seems would be the best answer if they would work.

Are you guys springs sitting straight up or angled out?

I just realized that this was my old thread.. look at the pics on the 1st page and you'll see that my springs were initially unlevel as well. Modifying the spacer helped.

Angry

Ok, this kit will not work on my early 99. I adjusted a 2 1/2" camber bushing all the way down and my wheel still needs to come back in atleast 1"+!
this kit will not work without 2" drop brackets which nobody makes...
Maybe because they won't fit and still get it bolted down?...
The I beam or spindle must be different on the early 99 vs. Late 99.5 and up.
If anyone knows if they are different, but compatible, please let me know.
As far as grinding, I maybe had to grind about a 1/8" and the 2 1/2" bushing still did not bottom out.
Wow! I'm not so happy and I really want this to work!

The aluminum leveling kit that many of us have used worked just fine on my e99. The rotors and bearings may be different on the early birds, but I dont think they changed the I beams any.
Mine is a 4/98 truck, so Its def an early bird.

Starting to think, its way to much of a headache, for not much conclusion. Think the $800 4in or 6in lift, that has everything..drop brackets, radius arms, springs, would be a much better route.

Mine was made in 98 also. The I beam or spindle must have changed at some point.
4" sounds like the route I will take, I guess...
The wheel is still riding on the outside of the tire with this much camber adjustment, which is max and well over 2wd specs

I will take a long distance pic to show the wheel camber and you tell me how to make this work and I will eat my words.
Maybe the angle shows up more on these 34's on 20's

I know there are more different specs on the 05/07 like wheelbase width
