Ok Jake, I'm here already. Hello everyone, thanks for the welcomes. My name is Ross and I am a die hard Ford man but i'm sorry to say that i'm also a cummins man so at the current time I am driving a 95 dodge. I have spent some time tweaking it- it has stage 5 injectors and an injection pump off an 8.3 cummins. i'm guessing that its at around 400hp. This (other than the engine and transmission) has just made me more of a ford man as the body and chassis is falling apart around the engine. I had good intentions of buying a 76 highboy crewcab this summer and putting the cummins out of my dodge in it along with a frame extension and a home made flat bed. Unfortunately because of a summer job that I took in Lincoln, thats not going to work out so it looks like i'm gonna be driving the dodge awhile longer.
My other dream project is a 2004 (because it was the last year of front leaf springs) F350 crew cab long box with an 8.3 cummins in it, a 6 speed truck tranny and a 4 speed brownie auxiliary transmission behind that. Altogether, including the transfer case that would give me 48 gears. With the torque of an 8.3 and that gearing it ought to be able to pull every chevy and dodge in the state of Nebraska backwards all day. But unfortunately for now its just a dream cause I don't have any money.
My dads got a 94 F350 crew cab with a cummins in it with 450,000 miles, a 1973 highboy with a 6.9 diesel with a homemade turbo kit on it, and a completely original 73 highboy- this one is on fte at http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gall...p?albumid=2737
we also have a 79 f350 super cab with a perkins diesel and an unsynchronized truck 5spd transmission. just squirt about 2 cans of ether in it and prrs right to life.
