Hi guy's, new member here and thought I would probe the masses on a problem I have been experiencing with my 2002 F150 ext. cab FX4 that has an intermitten violent shake that comes and goes. It seems to happen only on the highway speeds and it will shake the steering wheel violently and then subside. I had all the steering linkage checked and all seems to be fine. I have done a search and turned up a few responses of the the E-brake sticking and causing this. Would the E-brake cause the steering wheel to shake like this?

 

where did you have the front end checked? i would do it myself, its very easy. just jack the front wheels off of the ground and shake the front wheels side to side and up and down. if you find any play, have a buddy shake the tire and look under to see what has play. or try getting a second opinion from a different shop or dealer.
