Pics of my truck.

She's a 1963 ford F100 with a 1965 390 and a c6 trans from a Mercury Marauder. She only suppose to have 57K on her but you know how that goes.
No rust on floors or much anywhere else.
Besides the new seat install and the ignition switch cap she runs excellent.

Man that Truck is in real good shape, and I think you got a good start on a cool project!

P.S. I really like the color to, my truck is an old ( N.C. D.O.T. STATE Truck ) and it was

Yellow, with Black grill and bumpers, from the Factory!

very nice shape from what I can see. I really like the tail lights. I had the same grill on my 64 and am a little partial. Not completely sold on the 65-66 turn signals in the upper valance. Had a set of wheels like that on a 64 I bought. Sand blasting, primer, and black paint made them look like new. Just add some center chrome caps and chrome truck lugs. Could always do a red pin stripe around them also.

390 and C6 sounds like she would be a blast to drive.

Flareside, cool!. Looks like you have a 'workhorse' there, kept tuned and little tender loving care he/she will give you endless years of service. What a great find.

Great looking truck,
I like the Stepside option and with my bed in the shape its in Im thinking about either trying to find another bed or try to fix this one. Right now the option of finding another is getting more appealing.

What's wrong with the bed you have now?

Let me guess...the wood is bad.

The same bed wood was used 1953/79, and is available all planed and rabbitted from aftermarket parts suppliers like Dennis Carpenter.

The wood kit comes with all the necessary hardware to install it, but the steel runners are not included. These have been reproduced and can be bought separately.

The wood comes without any finish on it..and as original...the bed wood was PAINTED body color as were the steel runners.

The original paint wore off quickly, so...most people today believe the bed wood was varnished...but that is not true.

NumberDummy,
I have a Steel Bottom Styleside Shortbed. Its rusted clean through back about 4 inches in the bottom of the bed and about an inch up the front panel. The bed is pretty good outside and I have worked out most of the wrinkles. I was going to scrap the floor of the bed and weld in a replacement but there is about a 1000 Spot Welds holding that bed floor to the crossmembers. So I am looking for a work around and may have found a solution without buying a new bed.

Thanks Guy's. I plan on swapping in a set of headers, 4BLL set up, Electronic ignition and fix the gas gauge. I'm using 1966 T Bird buckets the driver seat is a 6 way and it works. Just have to make A few brackets up.
I really enjoy and appreciate this site and the help the folks on this site have been.

Ah yes...the dreaded gas guage. Does it read empty all the time?

When you fill the tank, does the needle only move part way?
