BBQ/GTG thing

So, since the idea of a BBQ/GTG at my house is on the table, lets expand on this idea. I have lots of parking available. I have a garage, with a model train project under way, and I have the second largest back yard on the whole block (property behind me is only bigger because it's two lots as one). I gotta delapodated gas grille (it works great though), and stuff. I'm open for any weekend that isn't expected to be rained out. The wife and I work week days, so our week ends are flexible. Let me know what everyone wants to do.

Madras. "Gateway to Central Oregon" (yeah right, more like international border town) Kidding, kinda, feels that way sometimes.

Sounds like we need to do some planning, come up with a date and some sort of schedule.

For example, I could pack up and leave here early in the morning on a Friday or a Saturday, planning to arrive in the middle of the day for a BBQ that evening, camp out in your parking lot the night and head out the next day. If you have room for me to park the truck with a camper on it. That'd work for me. If you don't have room for me to park the truck/camper, that'd be OK too, it appears there are a few campgrounds in the area I could use.

But I might not have as far to drive as some people. Some people might have to drive in one day, party the 2nd and go home the 3rd, etc. If everyone who plans on coming could say what they needed to do, we could figure out how to plan it.

We need to figure out a date. I'm generally pretty free, but I'm kinda busy the weekend of the 26/27th and a few days after. I'm good through most of May but the first and second weeks of June are shot to heck with Dad's move. After that would be pretty good. I have a family reunion on the 12-14th of June and I could just leave the camper on after that and not have to unload and reload it.

We ought to talk about stuff to bring to eat. I'm not a terribly good cook, although I make some pretty good pulled pork. I could do up the pork and have it ready, we'd just need to heat it and put it in some soft buns. I could do that, bring a store bought potato salad and some drinks.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

David, I'm in Prineville, 30 miles from Joe's. If you need a place to park over night, I have a couple of acres you can park in. We will need to get Don in and the planning, he is the leader of the "dry side".

We'll need to wake him up from his old man nap first.

You guys are sooo noisy.Ya woke me up!

I'm up for any day, but I'll only be there for the day. My work is piling up, and can't take to much time off. I do have to take a trip to the gold mine in Montana some time before the middle of June, but I can schedule it for any weekend. So plan away guys! I'll make it whenever you set it up for.

Ok. I'm game. Here's the deal. Our land lord gave us a 30 day notice. No big.....that happened Tuesday, we get keys to another house tomorrow. We're gonna be moving this weekend, and next. Should be good to go within two and half weeks. What I'm thinking, is a GTG/BBQ/House warming type thing. I can't move into a new place in the middle of Spring, and not have a good ole fashion GTG. I am thinking like a pot luck ordeal. A big old shindig, that's focused around old cars and trucks (not just Fords, as my boss will likely drive his '55 Chevy gasser). Happens to be a 55 F-100 3 houses down. I'm gonna invite him. This would be a good chance to meet and greet for the Oregon FTE chapter. I don't need anything for the house, we're good there. Let's just make a list of things to bring. I'm alwaysgame for traditional BBQ's of hamburgers and hot dogs. I like the idea of the pulled pork. Lots of chips and drinks.

Sounds like a plan to me. Just let us know what day/time you want us to all show up. The about 2 1/2 weeks time frame works good for me, I'm not doing anything important between next weekend and the first week of June.

Mid May? Does anyone have plans Memorial Day weekend? I'm thinking either maybe May 16th, or May 23. Both are Saturdays. The 23rd is Memorial Day weekend. I think most people have that Monday off, and I can see if we have a three day weekend. If so, then it wouldn't be rushed for anyone to get back home.

I'm good for the 16th. Mid day? Show up when ever, and shoot for a late afternoon eat time, or kind od like a buffet, that has plenty of snackins out for munching. We're more or less moved in now (man, what a busy weekend) Thank god for the boss man being a racer, and having a 16 foot toy hauler. Was able to move 95% of the house and garage in two trips. Got the nooby tow driver to show up after the races, and we hooked the big truck up and hauled it over too. So, we'll be all settled in and ready to go before May 16th. If everyone wants to make a plan on things to bring, or what to do, post it up.
