Carb Spacer and Heater hoses

My 68 f350 with a 360 has a 2bbl carb with a alum spacer. On the front side of the carb the hose runs to the same connection as the heater hose on the intake. The other runs behind the motor to nothing and has a bolt in it with a clamp. Can anyone tell me how the Carb spacer is suppost to be plumbed into the heater hoses? OR Pictures would be great. Thanks

The one on my 73 was T'ed in to the heater core. As a alt path for water flow in to the core.

Here is the diagram that I used when I plumbed my system. Have had no cooling problems. Still need a shroud though to be complete. I'd like a fan clutch also.

Back then Ford used the hot water to warm the cold natured carbs. As noted you can eliminate it all together if you like, or continue to use it by having the hot water go through the carb base on the way to the heater core. It is the heater loop with no significance to the cooling operation of the engine.
