home made cold air

I got some hose and ran some air to my breather from the air deflector where the cut out vents are.

This morning I was watching Two Guys Garage and they used a plenum from Spectra to run cold air to the carb; well I went to a new local pull-a-part and found a lpenum from a 4.9 Cadillac which look just like the one from Sprectra its just blaack instead of chrome for less than $4 the yard was crowded like they were giving stuff away which they were with their prices, I even saw an old Y-block complete.

Nice job on the hose, but what do you mean by "plenum"?

There is a plastic box that goes over the carb, shaped sorta like a tear drop with an opening where you attach the hose/pipe then a cone shape air filter on the end. Spectra has kits which run high in the hundreds. Caddies has the plastic box which runs to a filter box, then out in the front for the cold air. I brought the box that attaches to the carb/EFI for less than $4 at the pull-a-part, I'm going to try and get back there tomorrow I saw a cast iron 4 barrel intake manifold on a 302 I wanted.
