Good stuff man. When that sled video came out, RAM immediatly released a part called "secure in motion" that is supposed to lock down the laptop. Buts is still an OPTIONAL part... if safety is OPTIONAL, then best of luck to ya RAM! Beyond the laptop coming out of the dock, obviously my other concern is those ball joints swinging around in an accident. Not to mention the vibration and the ball joints deforming over time...

Ironically my Havis console was ordered today. I was torn between going with the one you have and the one that goes under the factory arm rest (its on the website but only under F150). Since this is going to be a demo truck, I went with the full console like yours.

I just put a LEDCO/Havis mount with a Toughbook in my 09 Expy this week also. Will post some pics soon when its all done. In July it is getting a Panasonic Arbitrator camera, FLIR camera (hopefully) and fully equipped with Whelen lights.

Check out the pro-clip post I put up today!

Thanks

Alex

I should add that I think RAM is a great company with some fantastic solutions for GPS and such. I use their stuff on my motorcycle. But, for laptop mounts I have just heard too many stories of people getting hit in the head by a laptop. Just my opinion!

Just wanted to see if you had added POSIs to your diffs as you described power being shifted from one axle to the other which is a neat trick for an open dif to do. How do the Toyos ride and have you reflashed the ecu for the new size?

^^^Ditto on the suspension. I am very intrigued as to how this is intended to work vs real life.

Kind of a nit, but i sort of wish the grill guard followed the lines of the grill a little more

Sorry guys, I kinda fell off the map for a bit.

IQ9 - Really sorry my friend, I didn't catch your question until now. The Toyo M/T's are very nice, and ride well for a Mud/Traction tire. They do well in the mud, snow, ice, rain, and on the freeway. Just make sure you keep them at Fords recommended tire pressure. Too much pressure and they become a bit too jouncy. M/T's have a very strong sidewall, and as these are 10 ply, i'm almost positive I could limp home on a flat in an emergency. When the conditions are really nasty, the Toyo M/T's shine.

I haven't re-flashed the ECU yet, however, thats to come. Who or what programmer company should I use??

I have the lights mounted on the rack, I just need to run the electrical wiring, and mount the 4 alley lights. Right now I'm trying to figure out the best method to route wires and make sure everything is waterproof. I don't want to drill holes, but I may have to. I read an article on a land rover forum about this. One of the ways to route wires to the roof was to run the wiring out of the hood and up by the window. That might be a little tacky, however, I can add lighting power and communication coax very easily. So we'll see. At the moment I have my head buried in radio programming. I will keep you guys posted.

More photos to come.

Happy Halloween!!

- Robert
