ok i found a camera so heres some pics

heres my brackets with a nice coat of paint.

knuckles and tie rod...ill paint the knuckles when i do the ball joints and i think i need a new tie rod anyway so i wont bother with that.

this is th trac bar and you can see the two bends im taking out of it and shorten it about 4"

heres some random stuff i drew on a pic of the steering/drag link...its a basic mach up but its pretty close...in th pic you can barely see it but the circle is where it hits the x-member now but once i straighten it it will go right behind it, and the big box thing is where about the bracket will be so the trac bar can be 30" long and straight

well i havent had time to get on here lately but an update even though it looks like im all alone in here now...friday while at work i used the 50 ton press to take the main bend out of that trac bar but i have a question do you think that trac bar will still be solid since i took out a factory bend? i will probably get a factory straight one anyway i was just wondering i did some planning on the trac bar braket and i can use a trac bar 30" in length so that should be fine since the drag measures 36" and i did the motor mounts on the truck friday night...

Looking good, now I know why the bolt on kit from Jeffs Bronco cost so much.

hahaha i saw that on there and was like DAMN that would've been nice

i just went out and measured between 3 and 4* of forward caster i know its a little shy of what is recommended but this truck wont see a lot of highway/street use so i should be able to deal with the loss of handling.

well no...im still waiting for the arrival of parts... i decided to just build a trac bar and bracket, that will be last...i got the BJs out waiting for new ones...tie rod is good so im reusing it...gettin 78 rad arms brackets tomorrow so ill do those then to get a bit more caster...waiting on spindles... need a new cv shaft for the long side of the exle so i gotta find one tomorrow i guess...got new wheel joints installed in the short shaft and the long shaft will wait till it gets the new cv shaft obviosuly...waiting on ext. brake lines and caliper retainers and bolts to install calipers....properly measured caster and got 2* positive so not bad the 78 brackets should fix er up

and im out of parts and out of money so till payday next friday i wont have anything else

im so close but yet so far...

if i didnt have to order parts and serch for parts this would have been done a long time ago...if the parts are even available locally to me they are selling for 10x what they should be...so at the moment no....okay yeah its still worth it

and i cant remember whats its really called but by cv shafts i mean the small shaft that runs through the spindle on the end of both axle shafts i forgot what they were called?

and wheel joints are the u joints on the axle shafts thats what the parts store here calls em? ive also never heard of that name before but at least when i say that they dont ask me for engine size? LOL

all i have managed to do this weekend is change the wheel bearing on my dads splorer ha still havent seen hide nor hair of my parts

called JBG today 3 times...they would not answer....is this normal for them?

im sick of waiting for parts its gettin on my nerves

I was looking at the dates on this thread, and the intention of this build was to be completed in a weekend. That was many moons ago.
Consider time and money, or money based on time, and a D60 could have been in there already.

Was this axle actually the right choice? How much dough do you have wrapped up in this build so far? Phone calls, trips to yards, time without said vehicle? Its all worth money right? I believe so. This is a million dollar SAS so far.

i have two vehicles and its not even mud or hunting season yet so for now i couldnt care less about downtime with it...i know i wanted it done in a weekend then parts screwed me over and i said to hell with it...i could have had the labor done in a weekend if i had access to ALL my parts...like you bashed me for in the beginning...but i had problems with $$$ and access for parts...if it was a semi...then id be pissed cause id be losing money but im not losing anything so no big deal...and have there not been many WAAAYYYYYYY longer SASs done? and yes its very well worth the money...and no i did not want/need a d60 so why waste the extra time and money to do it
