Relax Jr. It's not that bad. I know you have to deal with ice, which is why I suggested the IROK and not the swamper. My truck saw a lot of duty with a plow on the front and the siping that they have allow for them to grip fairly decently.
A cheap option for a decent offroad tires are hummer tires. My buddy runs a set on his bronco and they are much better than his old bfg mt's off road and he says they handle decently on road as long as you keep a close eye on tire pressure. The only problem you will encounter is the 16.5 rims with a 5x5.5 lug pattern.
It's your truck and you do what you want with it, but don't think you are going to have the baddest truck just because you have a sas. My little 150 with a 200k mile 351w has seen a hard life as a plow, hunting, commuter, heavy hauling, anything I throw at it truck. It takes what I give it and is ready for more. Point being, your 300 may have torque but until you can make yours do 200' in 3' mud in 7 seconds like mine, your still a bling mall crawler...
Lol, just messin with ya. Get it done!

For one don't waist any $ on military tires. They suck ass. All they will do is get u stuck.
Have u looked at the Pitbull tires at all? I love my rockers compaired to my old TSLs. The only place they show a bit of suck is the mud. But if u get them spinnin fast they work well. I havnt played in the snow much with them yet, only because I got them this spring. Also don't let anyone tell u ur truck is a mallcrawler just because its slow. My pickup isn't fast my any means, n no one has ever called mine a mallcrawler.
For the ice and snow u will want a tire with a lot of sipping. Hell u could even take ur tires in to get sippes added.
not the truck you gotta look out for, its the driver
my truck has 210k miles and was rat bagged all its life by the P.O., not i own it i found that that is exactly what it wants LOL
who said my truck is slow? ive seen my trucks twin (my uncles 96) go places people wont on quads, very very capable offroad truck, thats why i bought mine, thats why im SASn it
i wanted the IROKs but i imagine they are the same cost or higher than TSL radials meaning they are out of my range, i like the BFGs cause they have some pretty good siping, and they are not mickey thompson, and they will be decently priced...
one thing i wonder is how do the ground hawg radials do, they look like they would be comparable and an okay all round tire but how many miles do they get and hows the price compared to similar sized TSL radials

The hawgs are hard as crap and last forever. Their problem is they are great in mud and powder snow but suck in ice. You can get them siped to help with that though. For street use they hum worse than a bogger.

i was thinking the radials, the interco site says they are already siped...more siping never hurt i guess...maybe i have to price those out too and the radials outer lugs are set up for studs too, that works for me, if they arent stupid expensive, its only like $15/tire to have them studded, then i has traction
on the SAS, i have to put the new bushings in my trac bar today while im at work, then i have to wait for my welder

Ur welder? As in u ordered a welder, so I have one.
Or waiting for a guy, to come over with a welder to weld it for u?
Best investment I made so far is a welder and a torch.....
my shop is not set up for a welder so all i have is a 110 MIG and i dont trust that for welding my frame and making it look good in the process, my buddy is a b pressure welder so i trust him to weld my frame more than i trust me too, plus he can bring a bigger welder in his truck...just have to get a hold of him

O ok. Just wonderin that's all. I do a lot of welding with my 110 volt wire welder. If u prep the joints proper, and if its thick enough, make a couple passes it works better than u would think. But, do what u feel safe with.

well im sure that little 110 would do it, its the fact that i havent done a lot of welding, i can weld fine but i havent made it to the point where it looks "factory" and at my level of welding id just rather not touch the frame, that way i cant F it up LOL....plus this is a trac bar we are welding here, it needs to be pretty damn strong welds and i just dont completely trust the 110 when i can get better welders with bigger machines...
i got my new trac bar bushings installed today, now i gotta get that damn socket out of the old busing, the 50 ton press got it stuck in there pretty damn good
im gonna paint my drag link and trac bar tomorrow for something to do....and probably do those stripes on the side of the body most of you probably saw in the 4x4 pics thread HAHA, good ole gloss black rust paint

I know more people with bronco's and hummer tires than just you Paul. It's a guy I hunt with. What you looking to get for those rims? I'll save my hurricane rims and 36" swampers for summer riding and can run hummer tires in the winter to hunt with.
