i went through this internet crap before an it is much faster and easier to buy locally considering i live across the border from anywhere that has a website...it took 3 weeks to get brake lines across the border!
thanks kjett ...i am building the bracket according to the trac bar so adjustability of the trac bar is not much of an issue

yeah eh, it takes along time to get stuff shipped to my igloo, they all look the same and there are no numbers on them, there are no streets or landmarks...
anywhooo now that you know that...i have to kill you
turns out that "machine shop" cant bend anything, they dont even have a mandrel bender, so unless they can use heat which i would not think to be a good idea i have to find a way to make that bitch straight so i can get this thing done sometime before i die of old age
does anyone know a good way to make the stock 78 trac bar stronger? if i can use the stock 78 i would like tot beef it up a bit...

If they can use heat you wouldn't need them. Lol. Well you might.. but still, No mandrel bender? Whats a machine shop for?
I'm getting very impatient with you. I want to see this done before i'm dead too.

thats what i said! lol
apparently they can bend small stuff but 1" is too much
and it was my understanding that heating and bending the factory trac bar was a no-no, safe or not?
anyway im gonna go get that trac bar that mysteriously appeared the other day and then im gonna install a new tranny mount and e-brake equalizer when i get those in and once thats done its off to a shop with a lift (on the back of a flatbed) and then off to the farm to get the trac bar bracket finished and welded in
...and then...OFF TO THE MUD HOLE, which has been disappearing rather quickly over the last 2 weeks so i must be close to done, it has been full all season till now, i think thats a sign LOL

Luuuuuuucky. There's no more mud around here! My home-made mud hole, which instantly sank my truck and clogged up my tires.. well its dry.. You could drive a semi-truck over it now. Its sad really.
But.. another few weeks and its the rainy season again.

damn another 2 weeks up here and it will be approaching snow season, snow is fun too though

Well I am still running a factory 78 trac bar on my rig. I just replace the bushings a lot. Lol. Also I did heat it up with a tourch, and straiten out the bend that is right beside the bushing at the axle. No problems with it yet.
Watery mud isn't much fun anyways. I have had too many starters, alternators, and electric fans go to **** because of too much grit getting in there. The thick stuff is what I like. But snow is really fun. Don't have to wash it off, and u can(with enough time) did yourself out of it. Farmers alminac said this winter will be worse than last!

How many would you consider a lot to be? How OFTEN do you actually replace those??

Yeah I went through quite a few starters. I have a high torque starter on my truck now so I took a few precautions to try to keep it safe. My buddy had his electric fan hooked up to a in-line fuse. Whenever water was around it, it would blow the fuse. He would replace and it would be good to go. Never ruined the fan lol.

Snow is fun. It can be just as fun as the thick mud depending how deep of snow you're in and how frozen. I can't wait for winter haha.

Well once a year is how often I replace trac bar bushings. As for electric fans in mud, I would play in the deep stuff, and the bushings in the electric motors would go out, than they wabble and make funny noises, n don't cool very well. Lol. Winter is commin fast!
Farmers alminac said this winter will be worse than last!
they said the same thing last year hahaha so in other words this year will be pretty intense cause last year got pretty gnarly...i better get that damn 4x4 back on the road before winter then considering my other vehicle is a 2wd with street tires, and they arent very good at plowing the roads around here so that might not be the best idear haha
where you from that is getting the same weather pattern as me?
and yes snow is fun, VERY FUN since the same road i was telling you about goes from a lake in the summer to 3-4 foot drifts in the winter last year i was pushin snow damn near hood high...then my crappy ass pro comps kicked in and i stopped moving forward suddenly LOL

Haha. I love the snow. Except that i'm always called on to tow people around. -_- There's a little bit of a hill on my street. Everyone was coming over for Christmas and I had to tow all my sisters cars up the hill with my truck. Haha.
And then I had to drive like 30 miles to tow my aunt when she got stuck in the middle of no where. Crazy old woman. >_>
Where I usually go wheelin' is great. First few days of snow there's always a ton of people up there. Last time there was some Toyota that wrecked at the top of the mountain, and his buddy was coming in his Excursion and got stuck in a ditch. Ended up wrecking the side of his whole car.
I was right behind him, first in line of like 30 people trying to get up the mountain haha.
Hmmmmm.. speaking of snow and such.
Subaru drivers are crazy around here. The only way they can get around is by going 40mph. Which is extremely unsafe to the rest of the people wheeling in the snow.
I almost got hit head-on by a Subaru. He was trying to make it up the hill to the peak when I was coming down. I was one of the few to make it to the top at the beginning of last year.

I live in North Dakota. That last storm we got this spring, dropped 15 inches of snow in a day. Needless to say everything shut down, and that doesn't happen too often in ND.
