9.75 Axle?

I guess in 97 Ford started using a new axle called the 9.75. I was wondering if this axle is a C-clip design like the 8.8, anyone here know?

9.75 axle is standard FORD design, and it is also a heavy duty, well built unit. If you got one, be glad.

You can probably install 'C-clip eliminators' if you need them for severe duty. The C-clips provide extraordinary reliability in normal use.

Even though they are a c-clip axle, it is a strong axle as well. Four Wheeler Mag did a test and found that the 9.75 was stronger than the Dana 60, but didnt have the weight carrying capacity that the full-floater dana 60 has.
