Pot Metal

Does anybody out there in FTE land know if anything can be done to "Pot Metal"??? I got my son Tim a (regretting it) Baja Motorsports 90cc atv a couplt years ago.
The engine still runs like a strippes azz ape. But other things are breaking. Most we get fixed here in the garage. But now a "Pot Metal" bracket that holds the rear brake caliper and brake pads has broken.
I've been all over the web and have tried to buy it from Baja Motorsports with no help from them at all. Found a new web sight while looking. They're montioned all over. try this out on you're nex purchase when you're not sure about the brand www.pissedconsumer.com
Any help is appreciated.....

Well welding pot metal is pretty hard, most likely it won't last for long, even if you can get a good weld on it. I know there is a motorcycle wrecking yard in Joplin, but I don't know the name of it. I saw it on Trick My Truck a few weeks back.
If you have a place to plug in a 220 welder, I can try to weld it for you, But I'll have to dig my welding stuff out of storage.

No Lee I know not much can really be done with Pot Metal. It's just the crap metal in the bottom of the barrel. I bought a new caliper this evening, it's the only way to get the bracket that I need. That thing is $100 and thesize of my palm, naturally the brake pads are back-ordered............

Ever thought of getting a replacement made of steel at a machine shop?

To keep it from getting broken again can you put a guard over the part, or something to prevent it from getting broke again?

Wanna sell you front bumper/push guard of ol Kabluie to ease your pain, haha sorry had to ask.
