Funny you say that. I was looking at Hodgdens but when I seen they had IMR I ordered it. Thanks for the site Bill. 8lbs. ordered. I should be good for a wile with that jug.
Good for you. I should have negotiated a finders fee
It can be confusing, because Hodgden now owns Dupont powder. So some sites list it all under Hodgden, and some sites like Natchez list it under Dupont, and others list it under IMR. It helps to know they are all the same thing.
A friend of mine was saying he found a pretty nice gun shop in Ridgecrest. Not a BPS or anything, just a decent small shop. He drove all the way from Whittier to Ridgecrest to buy a case of primers from the guy a few months ago. But at the time that was the ONLY place he could find any.
Don't get me wrong. If there is no other option other than taking a drive, then I'm on the road. Fortunately I have had good luck in getting stuff on line. Primers I had traded some guy Remington primers for Federal 210's. When I was out buying stuff all I found was 2000 Rem 9 1/2. I would have rather had the fed 210. Found some guy on another site I am registered on and he had what I wanted and I had what he wanted. We just traded straight across. I just found another 500 Rem 9 1/2's last week. I picked them up just incase someone needs them.
Anyone know why supplies are so scarce right now? Been busy enough that I haven't had time to read up on it - since I've spent all my free time sorting out the front end on my truck. (A lot to learn in the couple months I've had it....) As it turns out though, I have a good friend who's happy to teach me reloading - so this thread caught my attention.
every one is afraid that he will limit who, what, how much, when, how, and why people can buy amo. also people think there might be a civil war or something along those lines...i think it happens most times when a Dem is in the white house...

That just started the panic shopping. Everyone has tried to buy anything and everything they can get there hands on.
The real reason for such a shortage, is the U.S. Government has placed an order from several companies for several million rounds of all calibers. Federal is one of the main suppliers the government use's to fill it's orders. As of right now, almost every component is trying to fill the order placed by the government. It was supposed to be filled by the first of the year. Now they are saying sometime in the middle of next year. If I can find the article Sinclair International sent me I will post it.
