Cars/Trucks you wish you had back
Back in 1980 ( I was 19) I bought a 1969 GTX. I paid 400 for it. It had engine that smoked (white clouds). I used it for a week or two and then the motor went bad. I gave it back to the guy and got my money back. To me it was just an old MOPAR. The body was in excelent shape. I needed a set of wheels to get to work! If I only knew then what I know now.....

I had alot of 440 6pac cars and alot of gtx and roadrunners.....they were like gold a few years ago and I did very well.....at the track near stock --easy 13s.
I had it with all the expense...so went to the very vehicle that I had when 16.....a 1956 f100 and sold it after total restoration by my self at my machine shop. I spent every moment I could on that truck, and sold it........and bought a 69 roadrunner......from then on..All I did was work on b body mopars.
Now I am back to the 53-56 ford trucks......lot cheaper...but alot slower.....haha

Well theres my 55 F-100 that was completely frame off restored I sold for $1200 in 1989 (I'm still getting arthtitus from kicking my rear for that).
Then there's my first car, a 67 GTO with the 400/400 combo I sold for $800 in 1980.
I sold my 56 also, but as much as I loved the body and cab, the engine tranny combo (351C/C4) was a dog and the front end steering was shot - so I never got much chance to fall in love with it. I only had it for a year. The body and interior were all done - sold it in 1999 for $4500.
The 51 is the last truck - and never gonna sell it!

In 1978 when I was 19 I bought a 1969 Boss 302.....my first Mustang. Gave $1800 and it belonged to our local fire chief. I sold it to one of my good friends who sold it to another local buddy. He sold it to a Ford engineer who collects high performance Fords and still owns it to this day(about 20 years) I met my wife when I had this car......though it's long gone my marriage is going on 30 years. I do miss the car but have owned at least one Mustang ever since.

Where do I start.....lol
Here's some of them;
59 Ranchero...sold it for $400 and a case of beer after I blew the engine
Then there was the 66 Plymouth, 383ci, 4spd...this car had me in front of the judge...a lot!...lol (this was about 1984)
This is the car I drove in high school, a 67 Dodge Charger (taken in 81 or 82)
This is the car I swapped for my truck, I got a 49 F-1 and $600 for this 49 Pancho
This is probably the best truck I have ever owned. Its a 1983 F-150, I bought it in 85 and drove the wheels off of it
Here's a shot of my old 69 F-250 I sold in 85
And there were others, I just can't find the pics

Some times when being 16yrs old the words super rare wasnt invented yet. The year
was 1962 my dad bought me a 1958 Mercury Park Lane convt. "" J "" code. Thats
right the now extra super rare tri power Super Marauder 430 400HP. Guy on ebay
wants $5000 just for carbs another $1000 just for the fuel pump, and the intake, who
knows. Being just a kid I got rid of those dribbling Holleys and put intake and
a 4bbl Holley, end of idling problem. Oh If I only kept that setup I wouldnt need
unemployment check. Ill put photo in "photos" I still have for 40years a Turn Pike,
sorry it aint got Tri Power. sam

I've still got my first one - a 66 Mustang. Needs to be restored but I never had a desire or need to sell. I always thought there would be a day when I would restore it - that day is here.
As a teen in the late 60's/ early 70's, a friend of mine had an old junkyard down in the country. I would go hang out at this guy's place 3 or 4 days a week. The cars just sat there. He didn't want to sell anything because he was afraid the tax man would come nail him. So they sat there, mostly complete, and rusted. All were 40's, 50's, and 60's models that today would have made this guy a wealthy man. Muscle cars galore. Many were without titles but the stuff bringing big bucks today was common. 440 six packs, 383's, Mopar muscle, the big block Fords, Camaros, Mustangs, etc. etc. He is long since dead but I went by his place about 10 years back just to see if the cars were still scattered about his farm. All were gone. The wife had had them all crushed and finally cleaned up their homeplace. Those are some that got away. He would have let me have any of them I wanted.

My first vehicle at 13 years old was a 1932 Ford pickup. My dad paid $200 for it in 1975. Had big plans for SBC, 4 spd, Chevy rear axle but never got it done and when I turned 16 I wanted something that ran and could drive. So dad bought me a 68 Mustang fastback, GT, 428, A/T that I found and wanted but had to relinquish ownership of the 32 truck to him in order to get it. From there on I went through 21 Mustangs, every year from 64-1/2 through 71, 2 69 Torino GTs both 428s one SCJ, after that was my Camaro phase, 67 RS, 69 SS, 71, 72 SS, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79 all LT's, a 78 Silver Anniversary Corvette, and many other cars (Dodge Challenger, Plymouth Barracuda, Trans Am) and trucks to numerous to mention. Aw what I wouldn't give to have any one of them back today!
