In college I had a black '57 Bel Air 2 door sedan, 283, power glide transmission, power brakes, wonderbar radio with a rear speaker. It had airshocks to lift up the rear end a bit. Being a poor college kid, I had Kragar SS on the rear with my brothers slotted A/P's on the front. It looked cool, it was fun. Then after college I bought a '55 Chevy 210 2-door sedan that was in better shape and with in a few years one had to go. I sold the 57 since it soon would have needed some body work.
I wish I had a black '57 Chevy Bel Air now..

I wish I would have hung on to my 59 Ford Fairlane 500. I bought it from my uncle in 1989 for $250 he was the 2nd owner. The car was in great condition, original paint still looked great etc. The car had not been running in sometime and for the next couple years off and on I tried to get her running.
In 1990 I lost my garage space due to a move and ended up selling it to a friend who was a mechanic. He offered me 1,500 for the car without hesitation, and being young and stupid I agreed. Hell the car didn't even run!
I remember the day he came to pick up the car like yesterday. He walks into the garage, pops the hood, looks down the carb, gives it a few pumps, cranks her over and gets a few pops out the carb. Goes straight to the dizzy traces all the wires, gets a grin on his face and starts pulling them and reconnecting them in a different order. I thought to myself I know i have checked and recheck the firing order numerous times. Well you can guess what happens next! The car fires right up and comes to a nice idle. Gosh I couldn't beleive it! I was excited and sad all at the same time. To add insult to injury he drives the car all the way to his house....lol I did get a ride in it a couple months later, she was a keeper for sure

i know its not a ford... but it is one i loved to drive... 79 1/2ton Silverado Surburban... i grew up with it and even learned to drive in it... first time out the powersteering lines blew off the steering box...
how it was back in its day (im the lil one there.. bigger brother next to me..)
how it sits now...
originally had a v8 400... now its got a slightly more powerful v8 350... doesnt run anymore.. bodys shot so we cant get it inspected.. so it just sitting there... when last time i got to drive it you had to jam a pen in the carb to get it to start... once it was running you could pull the pen... to me it had character....
we have an 85 body were working on to swap parts into it... but dads taking forever to finish working on it...

1972 Gran Torino Sport special order w/H.O. 351 Cleveland with Ram Air (only one I ever saw, all others had a plate behind the hood scoop) 4 speed, A/C, AM/FM/8 track 1 super fast ride!! I met my wife to be in this car. Car is long gone (sold when expecting our 1st child) Same wife (37 years next month) If i had to choose only one to keep, I made the right choice.

Wayne S, What is an 82 collector edition Corvette and what makes it so special as to be considered a collector edition? Inquiring minds would like to know!

A 82 CE was an end of an era (68-82) commenmorative corvette. It had a special paint called sand biege with smoked fading grafics and turbine type wheels..Also had special leather interior to match exterior. All 82's had the new cross-fire engine which was a prelude to the new corvette to be introduced in 84.All 82's came with 4-speed auto trans. Not really a rare car since there was 6752 produced.
