Spongy Brake Pedal

Spongy Brake Pedal
Hi gang, I just changed front pads and rotors on my 2004 escape. They gave me ceramic pads instead of the semi metallic pads because they were out of them. So I got everything on and pedal was very spongy, so pulled it back in and bled the passenger caliper which had lots of air, then driver side caliper which had air but not as much. Pedal seemed nice until I started the vehicle which it then seemed like it was spongy again. Also when pedal is depressed it sounds like a squeaky dog toy at times. I just wondered if the ceramic pads will have that spongy feeling since i never used them before. Thanks for the help, Al.

I bled all 4 wheel as well as sucking out old fluid from master cylander and adding fresh fluid, to really no avail. Pedal feels th same. They gave new springs for the brakes, but weren't holding as well as the old one, so i put the old ones back on. When I pushed the calipers in putting on the pads i had the cap off of the master cylander, and I did bleed much air out especially in the rear. I don't know what it can be as of now.
