Actually, It didn't wander, The only time it was real noticeable was in S turns, it felt like it was rolling over on the tires, it held a nice line going straight.
I knew when I bought the truck it had to much slop in the steering, I checked it and saw that it was between the steering wheel and gearbox output.
And yes, I do deserve to be bashed for NOT checking the rag joint... I didn't, I ASSUMED it was the gearbox, I won't do that again.
I'd recommend not using the Rag Joint kits, Get some steering U-joints (needle bearing type) and some collapsible steering stock and build your own, or spend big bux (~400) and buy one from LMC, Blueoval or the like. You might even be able to use the stock (current) collapsible shaft. I didn't measure for that while I had it out.
When I pull my truck apart for restomoding I will be building a short shaft like I've explained.
-Enjoy
