Question 77 bodywork

my 77 needs a new bed, but the bedsides are in decent shape. i have a 78 bed to put in its place, but the bedsides are a little beat up. would it be easier to beat the dents out of the 78 bed, repaint it, and put the trim pieces on that one? or would it be easier to drill out the spotwelds on the 77 bed and transfer them over to the 78 bed? the 77 bed won't hold a load (bed flexes b/c of rust) and i want it to look nice to... suggestions?

Drill or cut the welds, and transfer. Put in angle iron for support as needed. Dents are a pain without the right tools and skill. If you do decide to remove the dents, get a shrinking hammer and at least one good dolly. Surf the web for more info.
