I just got a 66 bronco from my boss, it has a chevy sb swapped in it right now. I wanna swap the 351 out of my 89 bronco in to it. Will there be enough room for the motor to fit? The sb thats in there now doesnt fit very well, you cant even get to the spark plugs on the pass. side. Thanx
The 351W will fit in the EB, albeit tight.
A bodylift will give it even more room, especially where the wiring on early models enter the firewall to the fuseblock. This is very tight without bodylift.
The biggest issue will be if it is fuel injected. You may need additional clearance in the stock hood.
A carbed 351W will fit without a body lift or hood mods, if you use the right air cleaner.
If you are planning on using the truck EFI components, you will need a 3" body lift and some extensive hood cutting. The truck intake is pretty tall.

It is efi, but I plan on swappin intakes and puttin a carb in, and probably use a mallory or msd ignition. Any input would be appreciated as how to make it better and easier. Just brain stromrin right now. thanx

The only issue for clearance will be where the wire loom goes through the firewall on models that had the fuse block near the gas pedal, and the air cleaner like you suggest.
My 351 valve cover lightly touches at this point and it may become an important issue if the engine mounts loosen up enough to let the engine move too much.
Even 1" of body lift would resolve this issue, or relocating the wiring/fuse block to a different location.

Never had a problem with the Windsors I've swapped. Were you using stock height valve covers?

I also might swap the c6 from the 89 in. Should i use the tcase from the 66 or the 89.
I would personally stick with the early Bronco D-20 (iron case, gear drive). You will need an adaptor to use the Bronco C6 31 spline output shaft. And it will require some driveline modifications.
The later Bronco most likely has a BW1356. Decent transfer cases with a good low range, but they are chain drive. They are a bit wider than the original Bronco case and it is pretty tight to get them to fit between the frame rails.

It is a bw1356. Where could i find an adapter to use the d20. I will probably use the stock valve covers, but i wanna put a 1-2in bodly lift and a 2-4 in suspension lift and 33-35in tires. Not sure if im gonna chop the fenders.

Was your Bronco originally a V8? It seems like the entire engine is pretty close to the firewall from what I can tell in the pictures.
Do you still have original body mounts?
And I won't harass you about the paint scheme . I've seen a lot worse...
