Temperature Sender 6V vs 12V Flathead

I am wondering if you can use the original 6volt temp senders after you convert to 12 volt system, I know there are lots of post's related to 12 volt conversions, like this one (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/812455-anyone-have-any-pointers-on-a-12v-conversion.html
So I apologize if this has been covered somewhere and I didn't see it, maybe point me to a link or something?
I have seen the 12 volt temp senders in catalogs but they are kind of pricey! so I was hoping I could just use the originals??

Here is a little picture too

(I found it posted somewhere from another one of our Bonus Built Brothers) drives a really nice 52 F1 Blue and white one!

Thanks
Josh

I used the Runtz voltage regulators from fifth avenue garage, also available from other sources. They are small and bolt to the back of the gauge and reduce the 12v to 6v. You need one for each gauge, water, gas and oil. You keep the original sender and bolt the three devices onto the back of the gauges and your covered.

No problem at all using the stock sender -- in fact it is just about a requirement. Just use Runtz or CVR.

I'm generally more a fan of using the CVR's, but I've noticed the imported ones NAPA sells nowadays noticeably "pulse"; you can see the gauges cycle a little bit. I'm thinking of adding a capacitor/resistor on the outlet to smooth it out.
