I have a 1952 F-1, with marmon harrington all wheel drive, she fires up and drives, i drove it around the ranch when i was in hi-school in the '80s. does not have a bed, problem is i know nothing about them, can i get parts to restore it? how can i find out what it is worth if i decide to sell it insted of restoring it? any help/info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks KODA
In short, Yes! there are parts available depending on what you need. Mechanical parts aren't too bad to come by, you can still get alot of stuff at the local parts houses. Body parts are another story. You can get some patch panels, but the only fenders you can get are fiberglass. You can buy a new bed assy (minus fenders).
Its my understanding that a decent running Marmon-Herrington is worth a pretty penny.
Hang around here for a bit, we'll teach you tons about these old trucks. There's some really great folks here that are willing to give you the info you need

I'll add my welcome. Glad to have you hanging around here, and hope you decide to put the truck back together and keep it. The front axle and transfer case are the only ways your truck differs from regular F-1s. If those pieces work ok, you're fortunate. If you need parts or service for the M-H components in particular, or for the truck in general, the guru is Chuck Mantiglia of Chuck's Trucks. Here's the link to his web site: Chucks Trucks LLC., Chuck's Trucks, Chucks Trucks. He is great to work with and a wonderful source for M-H specific information. Other companies that you find on the sponser's heading above are also good to work with. There are several of us here that have Marmon-Herringtons and will help you any way we can. One of our members, Mark Mossell, has started a Marmon-Herrington Registry so hopefully you'll hear from him. And when you can we'd love to see pictures and to know where you are located.

thanks guys, as far as partsfor the old girl i need a frount bumper, and the oil bath air cleaner. and i still don't know what to do for a bed-- any ideas?? to answer Stu im in western Colorado(no salt and rust here) and it's at my parents ranch, about 3 hours from me, so i will get some picsfirst chance i get, theweekend of 4/10 hopefuly. KODA
KODA,
Bumpers are no problem. A bed is no biggie either. If you want to spend the bucks you can buy a complete bed box, new wood, sides, strips, tailgate, etc. Keep your eyese peeled, there were alot of old trucks cut up over the years to make trailers out of, sometimes these pick-up bed trailers can be picked up pretty cheap. What happened to the original bed? is it still setting around the ranch somewhere?
You could always go with a flatbed. Our very own bobj49f2 just created some plans for a flatbed. Here's a link to the thread; http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/83...s-finally.html
I'm not too far from you, I'm down outside of Albuquerque, NM. I'll keep my eyes open for a bed down here.
Another source for used parts like your bumper and air cleaner would be Mike Dennis in Nebraska. He has ads in Hemmings every month, and here's a link to his web site. Mike Dennis Ford Parts: Inventory Categories Stu

thanks guys, i'll be checking out these web sights, anyone know who or how to get a honest appraisal of what it is worth? the local old truck people around here wont give me much info on $$ or low ball me with "a few hundred bucks" cuz they think they might get a chance to buy it? KODA
Disregard what I said earlier, the Marmon-Herrington trucks aren't worth a thing, in fact they aren't even worth their weight in scrap. I can tell that you are in a bind, so, here's what I'll do for you. I'll drive up and load the pile of truck onto a trailer and haul it off for you.
No, no, really, I don't mind. I like helping people out.......LOL
Your best bet to get a worth on your truck is to post the info here on this site.
VIN#, engine, model, etc
Also, take some good pics of the truck; front, back, sides, interior, engine, underneath, etc. People here will give you good honest opinions on what you have and what it may be worth.

thanks Bobby, there is a couple old codgers here & thats exactly what they tell me, only they arent joking. in the next couple weeks i will get the vin# & some good pic's to post on here Thanks KODA
Rarity doesn't automatically translate into high value. That said, the fact that the truck is complete (the bed doesn't matter) helps. The fact of it being a F-1 helps. The two listed in my signature I paid $2000 or less for, plus gas to go get them from North Dakota and Arizona. A F-1 Ranger, much more rare than yours, recently sold for about $7000. There's a dealer in WA that has a F-1 pickup listed right now for $8500 and seems to still have it. Here's the link. 1948 Ford FWD Marmon-Herrington Pickup - a set on Flickr There's a F-1 panel for sale in OR that the guy wants $25000 for and is nuts. Plus he's misrepresented the truck. Here's the link. Google Image Result for https://www.autabuy.com/photos/209326_161358977_thumb.jpg So, yours is worth more than I paid for my F-3s, but less than the Ranger I mentioned would be my guess.
