3.73 vs 4.10 DRW VS SRW AND A POWER STROKE

I'm in the process of ordering 2002 F350 SD CC diesel long box. Ford will not allow me to order the truck with 4.10's with a single rear wheels only if i order a duelly WILL i get this option. I'm going to be pulling a 10,000LB fifth wheel and i don't want to have problems with the transmission shifting in and out of gears. My father has a 2001 F350 SD CC Diesel Duelly Long Box with 4.10 and tows a 14000LB fifth wheel and has minimal transmission shifting LOCKS THE CRUISE CONTROL AND GOES. WILL THE 3.73 IN THE DIESEL CAUSE ALOT OF TRANSMISSION SHIFTING OR WILL DIESEL BE ENOUGH TO KEEP THE TACOMETER NEEDEL FROM BOUNCING ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Is 10,000 lbs the unloaded vehicle weight, or the GVWR for the trailer?
