When did you change your pads.?

Mine were changed by the dealer at 19000 miles. THe rotors looked like they had 200000 miles on them. I told them that it was not acceptable and they changed them under warranty. I purchased new pads myself and they installed them. I have not had a single issue since. I have 69000 on the clock now. The rears were changed at 50000.

25,8xx miles on my OEM ones
they got another 10,000 miles roughly...but I might go ahead and do all 4 corners in the near future. Getting a little tired of the damn brake dust myself
btw, the braking proportion on these trucks is about 60/40 (front/rear). older trucks were more of a 70/30 or 80/20 split. so you'll see the rears wear out almost as fast as the fronts nowadays.
so I highly recommend you just do all 4 corners at the same time

Bout 22,000 on the front, and I am going to do the back when I get home. I went with the duralast ceramic gold pads they are 50 bucks a set, but have a lifetime warranty and almost no brake dust night and day difference from the oem pads. almost forgot for some reason on those the hole the spring goes in was not deep enough so I just drilled it out a little bit and have had no problem. I love them other wise especially having chrome wheels much less polishing.

I picked up some Raybestos pads. My friend is a mechanic so he got them at discount and passed the price to me. I don't remember the exact price but I think it was around $90 for the front. That was 2 years ago and from the looks of this website the prices have dropped considerably.

There is no corelation between how many miles you have driven your vehicle and when the brake pads need replacement. the ONLY thing that affects brake pad/shoe wear is how OFTEN you apply/use the brakes. If you never step on the brake pedal you will never wear out your brake linings. The more you use your brakes, the faster they will wear out. Of course, not using your brakes can be hard on the sheet metal (yours and theirs). Dan.
