more flatty questions

ok i have seen and read theories going both directions here , but what is the opinion or concensus about using valve guide seals on both the intake and exhaust in a flatty ???? some say you'll starve some things for oil , how i dunno but .............. where in the world are you guys running upgraded clutches finding them ?? i have been perusing the manufacturers sites , here , parts houses etc. and i either go stock through like dennis carpenter , or bleed dearly .... one last one { for now } how does the petronix kit work with a stock dizzy ??? good bad , indifferent ?? can't seem to be able to hook up eith the son in law and get creative with the gm one to be cut down ...... oh and how would the said dizzy react work with the 2 jet i have to put on it ?? if i have too i'll run the oe holley again with a new kit in it , till it's time to put everything in the other chassis . later fella's !

Your stock dizzy will work fine with the petronix upgrade, 6v or 12v......BUT!! flathead dizzys use ported vacuum (ABOVE the throttle plates) not manifold vacuum for the advance. So it will work fine with a stock carb. I have a 2jet on my flatty, so I tossed the stock dizzy and stuck in a Mallory dual point w/ mech advance. It starts easy and runs sweet. T/M
