Interesting how they said it would be be competitively priced vs the Lightning. Yet a Viper costs 72K...hmmm So if they are going to produce this truck using a viper engine I dont see how they will have a price anywhere near 32K.....I guess they want to **** off the people who bought Vipers. But I guess thats Dodge for ya!!!!!!!!!!!
I for one will keep my 2000 L.
I doubt it. I've been looking at concept pictueres of the Silverado SS for 2 years now. It hasn't been announced. And Dodge? Anyone who believes a truck with the Viper's engine, transmission, and brakes is going to be "competitive" with a $30,000 Lightning is nuts, or he knows something about the Lightning's future price that we don't.
When the Viper came out, no one said "Uh Oh, here's competetion for the Mustang". I don't see this as any different.
I'm and 'all american' person. I'm down with Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. Though Ford is my favorite I still like both the others. I do agree that there is no way in hell that Dodge can run with the Lightning at that price. But, if it could, I would take that over the Lightning anyday. But you have to remember one thing...Ford has the ceiling for the production of the Lightning which gives it's owners a special feeling inside . Now on the side of Dodge, they claimed they won't have a ceiling for it which means owning one wouldn't be all the eye turning. "oh look, its another one of those Dodges."
The only cool part of that truck is the engine. The new body style dodge trucks are just plain ugly as hell. Those wheels make it look like a Hotwheel or something. I don't see how they can sell it at a competetive price with the Lightning. Also 17 or 18 inch wheels are enough 20's and so on are flat out crap. It looks like customizing gone bad. There is no need whatsoever to have wheels like that. It is not going to handle any better than 17 wheels w/ good tires or something comperable to that. Just my thoughts.

where did you get info on a SST? if you are refering to the SRT/10, you dont think it will catch a ford v10?!:-X11 dude, it has a 500HP viper V10 in it and does the 1/4 in 12.9. what does a ford V10 do it in?
and whoever said you can get the same performance in a 17" rim/tire as a 20" rim/tire, has obviously never driven a car or truck on 20's. my 20's have increased the handling ten fold over my 17's. Both wearing Z-ratted rubber.
