Something is very fishy! Your links don't have any diagrams. Also, I don't know who this trademotion is. I have a feeling it is some company that sells web sites to dealers. I have found three dealers that all go to this trademotion site, and all of them look the same except for adress, etc. They are silver state, fte ford parts and some other dealer. They all have the same part you are referring to. I have spoken to two of them and they both have no idea of what that is and don't even refer to the website. They both look up parts in the Ford book and come up with the assembly only for $222 thereabouts. I think that these sites were set up by some computer geeks and not looked over by the parts guys and that they probably have tons of errors.
I would not order anything from them without talking to them, who knows what you'll get.
Back to your diagram. I know the website says rear. Now go look at your truck, the rear looks nothing like your diagram. The backing plate for the rear is a full circle. Also, it is a backing plate for the parking brake shoes to mount to, not just a dust shield.
Don't believe everything you read or see on the net!
NumberDummy has the correct assembly #'s on his post.
I think that it is rediculous that the auto makers sell these parts as assemblies only. I think I know why, too. All of you mechanics are going to hate me, but here goes. All the tech does is take the whole thing off and put the new one on. In this case they don't mess with springs and hold downs, etc. They charge you book rate for the labor, i.e. 2 hours even though it only takes about 15 minutes and then charge for the assembly, list price of $323 plus tax instead of just the part you need, about $30. They are getting to be like lawyers, bill time. It is amazing how they bill a tech out for 12 to 15 hours on an 8 hour shift.
While I'm venting. Why is it that these tech's don't diagnose anything anymore? All they do is change out parts because some book says to.
Now I feel a little better, but I'm still getting raped on the parts.

I really hate to tell y'all this...but that backing plate you are refering to is ONLY furnished as an assembly....it is not available by itself.
4C3Z2209AA .. Right Rear Brake Assembly
MSRP: $313.88 // FTEpartsguy.com price: $226.00.
4C3Z2210AA .. Left Rear Brake Assembly
MSRP: $313.88 // FTEpartsguy.com price: $226.00.
Fits: 1999/2007 F250/350 Super Duty
If you look at that plate in the illustration section of the 1990/2007 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog, as I just did...it is shown by itself.
But....when you go to the rear brake parts list (#20)...it says it is only furnished as an assembly.

Sorry guys, I thought that these websites were accurate. I won't be using them in the future.

Ed, what course of action do you recommend if a FTE member needs a part # and price? I see that even you use this website but there is no telephone number listed, just a generic email form for questions.
Sorry guys, I thought that these websites were accurate. I won't be using them in the future.

90% of the time the catalogs are right. just sometimes they are incorrect. it happens.
when in doubt use the contact us link from my website send me a question with your Vin number and I'll get back to you within the hour during normal business hours.
If I posted my phone number I would not get anything done, I have to ask please use contact us link, and when you do my auto reply does send you my phone number so if you don't hear back from me within the hour, then you could always call me to see whats up.
But in order to get my prices low and the service exceptional I have to do web orders in between everything else I'm doing.
Being the parts manager I'm a busy guy. lol
