Just got done reading a two page article from a March '94 magazine on the one Bronco "White Lightning" that was titled&driven on the street. The article stated Ford built it for the president of J. Walter Thompson,Peter Schweitzer, back in 1994.Basically,it looks like he gave them his (then) new white '94 XLT,and Ford added all of the Lightning pickup's equipment, and re-painted the Bronco with a monochrome paint job. They even created a one-off white tire cover for the outside spare that said "WHITE LIGHTNING".This Bronco looks sooo nice,I wish I knew of it's whereabouts, because I might be interested in buying it....Ford should've built this Bronco for '95&'96 model years, but I guess not enough would've been sold(YEAH,right....)to justify producing it.The article listed this Bronco's 0-60 time as being 7.7 seconds,0-100 time as being 26.8 seconds, and 1/4 mile time of 16.2@84 mph.I wonder what those times would be if some of the '93-'95 Lightning pickup's go-fast goodies were also added to it????They listed the truck's curb weight as being 5,169 lbs.,so that is why the performance #s were a bit off from the pickups'.As they put it,"With it's four-wheel-drive system, the Bronco,at 5,169 pounds,is nearly 700 pounds heavier than the F-150 truck".A 4x2 version of a Bronco Lightning would've probably went 0-60 in 7 seconds,or less. They estimated the price of a 4x4 Bronco Lightning at $30,000("if you could get one").I guess you could take a '95,or '96 Bronco Sport, and make your very own Bronco Lightning. The thought has crossed my mind a lot,lately....
well they did it right this time with the lighting expedition!! have you seen the roush expeditions, there was one for sale in our local paper for like $43000

I just can't picture a soccer-mom yelling at her kids and talking on the cell phone while driving something like that! I see mom's driving Expeditions and Excursions all over Denver, and so many have trouble with just the plain big vehicles, let alone something more powerful.
