Hey, I am not far from you! I did at one time live in Mt Holly, and was over your way most of the time, real nice area! Welcome aboard, and lets see pictures of your truck, and its history, I know you said dad bought it new. Where did he get it? how much did he pay? How has it treated your dad over the years? Was it garage kept? Original drive line or modded? You get the picture, give us the low down, and welcome aboard!!
Aww man- My wife has the digital camera in her purse, and she just left for work.
I can answer a few questions for ya: I asked the other day how much he paid for it, he said "$5700 on the road". I'll have to find out where he got it, for some reason I think he bought it somewhere in Chambersburg, PA. It treated my dad very well, it did everything he needed, nothing less. He treated it well, too. He kept it in the garage from 1976 til 2000. He bought a 1997 GMC 2500 4x4 in 2000. The truck was (is) scary in the snow though! It is SO long, and only 2x4. But once we had a lot of firewood in it- we were fine! The truck is all original, except for the radio he put it in- originally it only had an AM radio (which is still in it) he bolted an FM box on the bottom of the dash. At least we can get some tunes now! I'd love to put a cd player in it, but I don't wanna take the original out- love the look to much!
I'd like to be able to say the same about Tarentum, but honestly, I think I've been there maybe once, and that would have been years ago. How sad is that? I know there's another guy on here pretty local too, in fact, he lives about 5 minutes from me although I've never met him in person, and not sure he even checked out the PA Chapter section.
