Tranny interchange/bellhousing pattern

Are 4.0 SOHC and 3.0 Vulcan bellhousing bolt patterns the same? Could I take a transmission out of a 4.0 Explorer and install it into my 3.0 Ranger and have it directly bolt up?

It will not bolt up. The bellhousings are different.
