1956 F100 Overdrive

Hi, I have a 1956 V8 F100 with factory 3 speed & overdrive. The cluster, first gear and the rev idler are all chipped/damaged. I am having trouble locating parts, new or second hand. Does any one know of a good supply for parts or alternatively a later model gearbox that will bolt up to my bell housing and do the job.

Cheers

Gary

You may have better luck buying another one as a unit! I see them on e-bay all the time. Every now and then there is a guy selling a couple of them that he has rebuilt. If I see his add again I'll let you know - you might check as well.

Over drive

Hi,

I have heard that the 4 speed box out of a mid 80's F150 has an overdriven forth gear. Maybe this box could be adapted to fit my 272. I wonder if any one has tried this.

Cheers

Gary
