Someone Hit my Truck! (pics)
Came home last night and found this done to my truck.
Man I have had the truck two weeks! Good news is they left their insurance info. I would like to replace all the parts with OEM if possible. Looks like I need:
Front bumper-possibly straightened and re chromed?
Outer Grill
Possibly front fender
Fender Chrome trim
Turn signal covers
Misc.

Well thats not good news, but it is good news they left their info. And not to be a dick or anything but since they left their info, they don't have proof of what happened so you could go total out your truck and get it completely redone and just say they did that...i mean you have their info and you could do that, i wouldn't want to because that could really screw someone over but just a word of advice, never leave your insurance info and leave!

good luck on getting it put back together. and don't take "no we can't do that" for a answer!

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that! I was cringing as I was looking at those photos. Hopefully there is no frame damage. At least she left insurance info though. Same thing happened to me last summer, only the guy that did it was an illegal without a license or insurance. Fortunately I have uninsured motorist coverage (wouldn't go without it in Texas). My truck spent a week on the frame machine!

Unfortunately it's fairly easy for these trucks to be totalled as well. Especially if there is any kind of frame damage. A high quality grill shell will run $500, but it won't be OEM. A used fender can come from a junkyard, but the body shop will want to paint the whole truck because the fender won't match perfectly. Trim, turn signal lenses, and a bumper can be had pretty easily.

To do this right, would it be an amount greater than her insurance company would consider that the "old truck" is worth and total it? If so, get ready for a fight! I am getting my truck appraised for my insurance for a classic policy to avoid this in the future! Good luck, and yes, its' nice that there are still honest people in the world....
